Not gonna lie. I saw this and wished I’d done it first.

That said, if truth be told, I’d have probably taken it down a John McPhee-style rabbit hole, going deep on geology and Native American migration routes. So, as much as it pains me, I have to admit Ben Delaney was the right guy for this job.

If you’re not already a fan of The Ride with Ben Delaney, you should be. Over the last few years, he’s taken gravel-racing’s privateer ethos and applied it to media. The results are consistently excellent, and this video is no exception as Ben tags along with Bryan Boyer, a longtime heavy equipment operator in Pueblo County, to learn how roads are made and maintained, what causes washboard, and, because it’s a gravel video, tire pressure.
